Week 3

This week, some highlights have been learning our model text around King Midas. Another highlight has been our Matisse cut-out lesson. Next week, we will play around with our own cut-outs and create a piece based on a Greek Myth!

Week 2 – Fair and comparative testing

This afternoon, we explored different properties of materials, such as: if they magnetic, transparent/translucent/opaque, thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity and levels of absorbency. We had a carousel of testing and the class loved discussing the purpose of the materials. We focused on our collaboration skills in this task. We made sure we were actively engaged, encourage others to speak and balancing how often we were contributing.

Week 1

What a great start to Year 5 we’ve had this week. I can tell we are going to have a fantastic year already. Some particular highlights this week have been: the slow write early birds; hockey on Friday afternoon in the sunshine; laughing in heads down thumbs up and learning our poetry model text!
